I’m Jessica Groenendijk, by turns a nature writer, science communicator, amateur conservation photographer, otter biologist, scatterling, and mother. I write for adults and children, and, above all, for nature, fusing my work in conservation and my personal experiences of wild creatures and wild places with my passion for words and photography. Welcome!
Writing for Nature
Wild Life blog
My nature blog is a mix of musings about the nature I see around me, pieces about field excursions, descriptions of wildlife adventures, and trips down memory lane. I try to add a new post at least once a month. I also send an occasional newsletter to my valued subscribers, alerting them to fresh content and new developments.
The photos on this site are my own, unless stated otherwise. The main background image was taken by my father, Peter, in Cape Town, South Africa. I have recently resolved to make my photography work for species conservation and nature preservation, and am currently exploring ways how I can combine it with my writing to make a difference.
